Rachael Brady leads the Visualization Friday Research Forum. She is a Senior Research Scientist and Director of the Visualization Technology Group. She is affilated with the Pratt School of Engineering and with Computer Science, as well as with Art, Art History & Visual Studies. She also runs the Duke Immersive Virtual Environment (the DiVE) and co-teaches the ISIS Certificate core course, ISIS 100: Perspectives on Information Science and Information Studies. She has also taught in the ISIS Virtual Realities Focus Cluster, as well as other courses related to information visualization. She also mentors students on individual and group proejcts, especially those related to data and scientific visualization. She is also a core collaborator on the WIRED Digital Historical Visualization effort.
Tim Lenoir is the Kimberly Jenkins University Professor for New Technologies and Society. He is affiliated with several Departments and Programs on campus, including Literature, Art, Art History & Visual Studies, History, and the History and Philosophy of Science. He is the ISIS Graduate Director and leads the Jenkins Collaboratory in Smith Bay 11. He teaches the ISIS Graduate Certificate core course ISIS 250: Critical Studies in New Media, as well as advises students and directs individual and group projects, especially those related to games and data mining. He is a co-PI of the Online Discourse Project, and he and his team received a MacArthur Digital Media and Learning Grant for the Virtual Peace Project.
Richard Lucic is the ISIS Undergraduate Curriculum Director. His primary appointment is in Computer Science. He also teaches the ISIS core courses, ISIS 140: Introduction to Web-Based Multimedia Communication, ISIS 100: Perspectives on Information Science + Information Studies, as well as in the ISIS Virtual Realities Focus Cluster. He also mentors individual students on various projects, especially those related to programming and mobile devices. He is a co-PI on the Online Discourse Project and the Virtual Peace Project. He also led the Zawadi Campus Life Project as part of an ISIS 140-based class project.
Victoria Szabo is an Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Art, Art History, and Visual Studies. She is also affiliated with the English Department. She is the Program Director for ISIS. She teaches the ISIS 200: Research Capstone course, as well as ISIS 140: Introduction to Web-Based Multimedia Communication, and co-teaches ISIS 100: Perspectives on Information Science + Information Studies. She has also taught in the ISIS Virtual Realities Focus cluster, and mentors individual students on various projects, especially those relating to maps and virtual worlds. She is the PI on the Visualizing Art Markets Project supported by the Renaissance Computing Institute and has led several ISIS Capstone-based projects, including Multimedia Mapping: Muhuru Bay, Kenya and the Virtual Duke Tour.
